A quantitative investigation in to the impacts of poor sleep quality on the productivity and motivation of students working from home during the coronavirus pandemic, and post-coronavirus pandemic.

PARTICIPANT INFORMATION SHEET 
You are being invited to take part in a research study. Before you decide, it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please take time to read the following information carefully and discuss it with others if you wish. Please ask me if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information. Take time to decide whether or not you wish to take part.

What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of poor sleep quality as a result of the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns, on the academic productivity and motivation of students studying from home.  

Why have I been chosen?
You have been chosen to take part in this study because you are a student who has worked form home over the course of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown. 

Do I have to take part?
It is up to you to decide whether or not to take part. If you do decide to take part you will be given this information sheet to keep and be asked to sign a consent form. If you decide to take part you are still free to withdraw by closing the survey at any time without giving a reason. Once you have completed the survey it will not be possible to withdraw data as it is anonymous. 

What will happen to me if I take part?
If you choose to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete an anonymous questionnaire on your overall quality of sleep and also on your overall productivity and motivation levels for academic work over the course of the pandemic. This questionnaire will take only a maximum of 15 minutes to complete.

What are the possible disadvantages and risks of taking part?
There are no intended disadvantages or risks of taking part in this study. However, there is potential for completion of this questionnaire to be distressing if your mental or physical health has been negatively affected as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. If you feel like you may be distressed or find discussion of reference to difficulty sleeping or staying motivated, then completion of this study should possibly be avoided. 

What are the possible benefits of taking part?
There are no intended benefits or advantages of taking part in this study.

What will happen to the results of the research study?
The results of this study will be presented in a Masters dissertation project. The study may also be published in academic outputs, dependant on the outcome of this research.
